Aperçu général
The Paradise Island Excursion from Puerto Plata is a perfect full-day adventure to the magnificent atoll known as Cayo Paraíso. This tour takes you to some of the most pristine coral reefs—ideal for snorkeling—on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. No trees, no roads, no stress.
We’ll take you through the mountains of Puerto Plata province while a local tour guide points out the scenery and shares insights into Dominican culture and customs. Upon arrival at the small fishing village of Punta Rucia, we’ll board a speedboat that will take us to Cayo Arena, the official name of Paradise Island.
On the island, you’ll be provided with snorkeling gear and life jackets for a guided snorkeling tour around the island.
You’ll explore the side of this vast coral reef, gently drifting into the deep ocean filled with marine life, colorful soft corals, and coral rock formations.
After snorkeling, you’ll have plenty of time to sunbathe, enjoy the coastal views, take dream-like photos, and snorkel some more in the shallow part of the reef, where the water is just 3 feet deep.
On our way back, we’ll stop at a traditional Dominican restaurant for lunch.
Note: This excursion visits a protected national park. Removing seashells, coral, rocks, or sand from the marine park is strictly prohibited.
